As a undergraduate majoring in SLP this App has been a huge help for my Phonetics class! It gives me a ton of practice and its actually fun! Thank you so much!

Other than that its great!

I mean this app comes with not only the American phonetics, but also the British Phonetics too. so you have best of both worlds :)

The sounds work, the chart is helpful.. I believe this will make make my linguistic classes even better for me

I was reading a book in my kindle app for Ipad, and it has its own dictionary. So I was planning to buy a dictionary with sounds, but they are to heavy (around 500 mega). I found this app, and I think it will help me a lot with the pronunciation while reading. Hope it is updated from time to time with new words and features.

Great app but I want landscape position support in the paid version. This is a disappointment as the free version supports it but the paid one doesnt. I will give five stars when landscape is supported.

Very standard IPA, but lacks other fundamental figures. Helps with practice and a great introduction to IPA. I wish its dictionary would expand.

Would not have a chance of passing my phonetics class without this app! Its sooooo helpful!

Simply amazing!!! Im in phonetics class now and this will help me tremendously and allow me to check my answers without tediously flipping back and forth through the textbook Mcmillan is the man!

Keep your money aways from this App. Waste of time, waste of money. Only a few words available and even when you buy new words lists you must click on each new list, one by one and finaly you never find even very simple words.

Just got this and I see it will help me train me ear. Notice some errors already that could confuse students. The American T in word "celebrity" is transcribed as /t/, which is the British pronunciation, but the American should be / d/ . Also /l/ is said "/la/ " in the audio but it should be /l/ with no vowel sound. I will keep checking it out before giving it an overall rating. iTunes makes me rate it so I will give it a medium for now.

Its ridiculous that it cost $6 and no iPhone 5 Support, it would be really helpful if they support the iPhone 5, and more vocabulary

Ive started linguistics this semester and I found this app an invaluable tool. Im sure to score an a this semester And keep my gpa up. I Love it!

The best educational app ever

Excellent application, simple to use, brings the user back to the basics and allows for practice.... Several items Ive yet to find, if it is indeed part of the App, and that is a growing slaughter of the English language, along with grammatical absurdities; such as "fir" in place of "for," then there is vocalization of the "comma" such as blah blah(, and ah) blah blah(, and ah). Well I think you get the picture, or the sound of, as it were. I would like additional Apps in the different language, also the ability of adding to the vocabulary list. I was disappointed when aluminum was not found in British list. Other wise quite excellent.

I would definitely recommend this to someone that is having problem with pronunciation in English!! It helps a lot :)

This app is broken cannot use quiz mode the phonetic key board covers the text and submit key . Dont buy !!!!
